Beyond the Wild is an exciting book that made me feel like I was a part of the adventure. The book reminded of road trips and camping trips my family takes together. I really like the way the book describes the scenery and shows pictures of the water and animals. This book makes me feel calm and peaceful because it reminds me of God and all that He has created, including my family. I'm grateful we can spend time together.

As a father of 7, I’ve read my fair share of children’s books and can quickly discern which ones are going to be favorites. Some get read a handful of times, while others are grabbed so often, they become worn and torn. Into the Wild is one you’ll reach for again and again, not just because it’s a cute adventure story, but because it stirs something within you – a God-given desire to be present in your kid’s lives.

This book immediately captured my children’s attention and kept them engaged throughout. They asked thoughtful questions as we read, showing how deeply they were connecting with the content. The vivid, illustrative writing made each part come alive and easy for them to understand. What I appreciated most was how naturally it pointed everything back to God, our Creator, in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. It didn’t just tell a story, it sparked important conversations about faith and family time spent together. As a parent, I found it both impactful and encouraging. It is a book we will return to again and again together as a family!

Reading this book to my children brought back memories of my own childhood. We felt as a family that we wanted to reconnect and do another trip together soon. The conversation prompt at the end of the book was great, we had a very deep conversation together. It was refreshing.

Reading this first book of “The Best Part” series - Beyond the Wild – made me long to read and share more of these great adventure stories! The nighttime scene when the boy comments on the fact that the world got loud rather than quiet when the sun went down was my favourite part. So true and so insightful! Many children would not realize this, and I can imagine some wonderful parent/child discussions coming from this thought. This story brought to mind several “adventures” I had with my own sons as they were growing up. I reflected on the years my sons were young and thought about how I’m so grateful we spent that time together! I hope that they remember those times as fondly as I do and that they will carry on the example of time spent together with their own children some day. I look forward to snuggling up to read and discuss Beyond the Wild, and lots more “The Best Part” stories, with my grandchildren. This beautifully written and illustrated book will become a treasure to many families.
