About Gregory Bland

Empowering families to connect, grow, and capture the heart of the journey.

Gregory Bland believes that the most profound transformations happen in the quiet spaces between us—in the stories we tell, the questions we ask, and the presence we offer one another. As an ICF-certified professional coach, Birkman Consultant, pastor, and author, Greg has spent over three decades helping families move from “telling and doing” to a posture of connection and shared growth.

A Philosophy Forged in Life

Greg’s journey began in the trenches of parenting his own children, where he discovered a transformative truth: when parents embody the heart, skills,  and disciplines of coaching, they don’t just manage behavior—they revolutionize their relationship with their children while releasing responsibility. This revelation led to his cornerstone guide, Pro-Active Parent Coaching: Capturing the Heart of Your Child.

However, Greg’s expertise isn’t just academic; it has been tested and refined by the real-life “collisions” of family caregiving. In 2017, life brought a season of profound challenge: a heartbreaking Alzheimer’s diagnosis for Greg’s mother and a courageous battle with breast cancer for his wife, Lynn.

Today, Lynn is cancer-free, and Greg’s mother lives with the family in the picturesque landscapes of Nova Scotia. These years of caregiving have deeply shaped Greg’s perspective, teaching him that family health isn’t about the absence of trials, but about how we show up for one another within them.

The Best Part

This commitment to relational health naturally matured into Greg’s newest creative endeavor: The Best Part children’s book series. Through these stories—beginning with the debut title Beyond the Wild—Greg invites families to slow down, unplug, and recognize that life’s greatest treasures aren’t the things we accumulate, but the people we walk alongside.

Educators and parents describe his writing as “an adventure that feels like home,” “something you will reach for again and again,” a testament to his ability to blend the logic of a coach with the heart of a grandfather.

Our Mission

Whether he is coaching an executive, conducting parent coach training or writing a picture book, Greg’s mission remains the same: to provide practical, hands-on tools that help parents connect with their children, explore possibilities, and build a reservoir of wisdom for the journey ahead.

By living transparently through his own family’s trials and triumphs, Greg offers more than just coaching—he offers a source of encouragement and hope for families everywhere.
